OLDIE

An elderly man, an oldie, and an old man.

In a friendly manner an elderly and nice man is defined an oldie, but better, he is defined an old man and, in addition for pleasantness, a little old man.

Old man means senior citizen, pensioner, oap (old aged pensioner), (British) senior citizen, elder, grandfather; patriarch; informal greybeard (very old man). Codger, strange fellow, strange person (usually an old man).

Once that we have specified this definition of old man, which matters can we still lift on the senior citizen?

If to define the man old asks for experience of life, then the definition must be furnished to my age, and not beforehand of it. We could consider this demand as a prerogative of the man that has already spent the arc of his active and productive life. I don't intend to sustain that only to the elderly man may define his state of man gone on with the years. I consider that an elderly man has the feelings that are proper of his age. I also add that I don't judge a man able to listen only to himself because he has reached his/her age. This man could be not suited for to furnish definitions of his state. Nothing changes even if to the study of the state of the elderly man, a younger man devotes himself, as man well endowed with studies and of professional qualifications.

I desire to limit my considerations from a man's point of view who reaches to my age, the age of 67 year-old man still able to reason.

This intention asks for observation and time to observe. You must have patience. I have necessity of a great deal of time. The great quantity of time deposes to my favor. To my age a man must learn the meaning of the prudence, and later he must be prudent. But one must not be too much prudent! One must be prudent in the necessary measure in relationship to the circumstance.

For every possible definition always exists the possibility to reach a further definition, also contrary to the first one. The all and the contrary of all. The uncertain being is not a prerogative of a 67 year-old man. Eh! Eh! We tell ourselves in clear way that a pensioner is a state that all would desire to achieve, but equally it is a heavy presence for everybody. Want to excuse the trouble of my being between you all.
