Venetia was the area of ancient Italy between the lower Po valley and the Alps; later a Roman province.
Venetia was later the territorial possessions of the medieval Venetian republic that were at the head of the Adriatic and correspond to the present-day region of Veneto and a large part of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
